  • The last effort by state legislators to seize public lands ended in 2014, when SB 14-091 (otherwise known as “A Bill For An Act Concerning The Requirement That The Federal Government Transfer Title To All Agricultural Public Lands To The State”) did not make it out of committee.
  • No land seizure bills passed out of the state legislature in 2015 or 2016.

 

  • Colorado’s Enabling Act states “that the people inhabiting said Territory do agree and declare that they forever disclaim all right and title to the unappropriated public lands lying with in said Territory…”
